| The Belvedere Palace |
The Garden palace of Prince Eugene of Savoy. The Lower Belvedere (Unteres) was built in 1714/16 and now houses the Austrian Baroque Museum. Inside this palace you’ll find an interesting fresco of Martino Altomonte, the Museum of Medieval Austria Art (with Romanesque and Gothic works) and the Baroque Museum (with works of Maulbertsch, Messerschmidt and Doner) The Upper Belvedere (Oberes ) was built in 1721/23 and now houses the Austrian Gallery with 19th and 20th centuries Austrian and International works, among others there are works of Amerling, Hausner, Hundertwasser, Klimt, Kokoscha, Romako, Schiele, Waldmüller and also the workd of some French impressionists.
